The Chevening Scholarship is the UK government's flagship international scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). Most UK universities under Chevening require a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no individual band below 5.5. If your undergraduate degree was taught entirely in English at a Pakistani university, some universities accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) Certificate instead of IELTS — always confirm this directly with your chosen university.
Applications typically open in August and close in early November each year. The selection process — including interviews at the British High Commission — continues through the following spring, with results announced around June.
