Open to Pakistani undergraduate students currently enrolled full-time at an eligible Pakistani university. Pakistan is an eligible country with NO citizenship requirement and NO language test requirement. Must meet a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3/4.3 OR a minimum average of 77% — whichever is more favorable. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have an anticipated graduation date of October 2027 or later — meaning at least 1 to 3 remaining semesters as of Fall 2026 (must not be in your final semester at time of application). Must be available for 12 full, consecutive weeks in Canada between May 1 and October 31, 2027 — internship must start between May 1 and July 31. Must NOT have previously received a Mitacs Globalink Research Internship award. Must NOT be currently affiliated with any institution on Canada's Named Research Organizations (NRO) list where the project touches Sensitive Technology Research Areas. Graduate-only students are NOT eligible — this programme is exclusively for undergraduates or combined undergraduate/master's students.
Round-trip economy airfare from Pakistan to Canada. Airport transportation from Canadian airport to accommodation. Housing stipend for 12 weeks (amount varies by province and city). Food and incidentals stipend for 12 weeks. Stipend toward student enrollment fees (varies by host institution). Health insurance for the internship duration. Research supervision by Canadian university faculty. Access to university facilities, labs, and libraries. Globalink Research Completion Certificate upon successful completion. Strong pathway to Canadian graduate school — many Mitacs alumni receive offers from their host professors for Master's and PhD programmes.
